The Badass Breeder (BAB) Puppy Curriculum
KBD follows the 8 + week BAB puppy curriculum guide that focuses on the health of Mom and puppies as well the socialization of puppies.
This curriculum exposes puppies to different noises, handling exercises, and novelty exposure activities to help raise well socialized and great temperament puppies.
KBD monitors the stress and startle recovery of all puppies during exposure activities.
Stuffed toys, plastic balls, bubble wrap, blocks, water bottles, brain games, water exposure, obstacle courses, large slides, cage exposure, and car rides are some examples of puppy exposure activities.
VISITATION & PUPPY SELECTION
Buyers are invited to participate in a virtual visitation when puppies are 4 weeks old and are welcome to come to our home when puppies are 8 weeks old.
Puppy selection happens on "Go Home Day."
At 8 weeks old, puppies have been seen by our veterinarian and have undergone puppy evaluations.
At KBD, we believe in the value and power of allowing Buyers to make an informed decision based on the Badass Breeder Scorecards for aptitude testing when puppies are 8 weeks old.
In order to get the most accurate results KBD completes puppy evaluations between 50-53 days old.
This process ensures KBD is meeting the needs of both the Puppy and the Buyer.
Our goal is to empower puppies and ensure we are enhancing nerve strength, confidence, high approach, and low fear
so that puppies are equipped to succeed in a service working placement or a companion home.
WHAT IS
CLEAR BREEDING STOCK?
KBD only purchases breeding stock that are genetically cleared through parentage and cleared through Embark genetic testing. KBD also completes preliminary Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) hips and elbow x-rays to ensure our breeding stock are cleared to breed and continue a legacy of healthy puppies that improve the breed. Health Tested &
2 Year Health Guarantee
Since we value the health of our dogs and only produce high quality puppies, we offer a 2 year health guarantee within our contract that follows the health recommendation from our veterinarian. We offer this guarantee because we are confident in the puppies we are producing . Our females are cleared by parentage and cleared through Embark/GenSol testing. They have also passed their OFA prelims for hips and elbows/PennHIP. Our males are both AKC registered. They have also tested clear through Embark testing and passed OFA prelims for hips and elbows/PennHIP. We make sure we are breeding not only beautiful Bernedoodles but also happy and healthy dogs.
Puppy Training
on a Curriculum
The Badass Breeder Way is an elite 8 week curriculum that builds confidence, nerve strength, and startle recovery in puppies. It empowers puppies to be the best they can be. This curriculum allows KBD to produce puppies that are equipped to enter the world as a service dog or family companion. BAB includes Early Neurological Stimulation Exercises, Early Scent Introduction, Transitional Period, Awareness Identification Period, and Puppy Evaluations. All documentation is given to potential families to help choose the puppy that best suits their needs as well as the puppy's needs.
Support for You & Your Puppy
KBD has partnered with Baxter & Bella to offer support to our puppies and families at home. The best way to prepare for a puppy is by getting started early with training and expectations. Baxter and Bella’s online school will help you understand everything you need to know before your puppy comes home, as well as throughout the whole life of your new companion! Raised in a Loving Home
Our breeding dogs live on site at our home. They are free to roam around our 5 acre property and enjoy sleeping indoors with us and our 5 children each night.
You are able to come visit and meet both the Mom and Dad of your puppy during our Selection/Go Home Day.
Our Commitment
We are unique in the fact that we are a small family owned business that only has a few litters each year. We are committed to growing slowly so that each dog and every litter receives the care, individualized attention, and socialization needed. Our focus is solely F1 and F1B tri colored medium/standard Bernedoodles. We are passionate about breeding the most hypoallergenic Bernedoodles. These two generations of Bernedoodles have a low to non-shedding coat that is great for anyone with dander allergies.
